About Me
Kai-Ling Law is a UX Design Lead and Manager, former retail customer-facing designer, design systems builder, AI-curious problem solver, lifelong learner, and devoted Whovian (yes — a very serious Doctor Who fan).
A little about my journey
I’m a UX Design Lead and Manager with a strong foundation in product design, enterprise platforms, retail customer-facing experiences, and design systems. I specialize in transforming complex business, technical, and operational requirements into clear, scalable, human-centered experiences that drive measurable results.
After graduating from a prestigious arts and design academy in Taipei, I immigrated to the United States and earned my degree from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. My career began in the retail and customer-facing digital design world, where I learned to design within real business constraints, fast-paced production environments, and evolving customer expectations.
From there, my work evolved into product, platform, and enterprise UX, spanning e-commerce, operational tools, hardware–software systems, and large-scale internal platforms. I’ve partnered closely with product, engineering, operations, and compliance teams to translate deeply complex systems into intuitive, high-performance workflows.
I’ve led end-to-end UX from research and discovery through interaction design, validation, and launch, while helping teams scale through design systems, shared UI patterns, and consistent UX language. A core part of my impact has been establishing reusable frameworks and governance models that improve usability, speed, quality, and long-term scalability across organizations.
In recent years, I’ve focused on the practical application of AI in UX, exploring how generative AI, automation, and intelligent feedback loops can enhance productivity, reduce friction, and support better decision-making, always with a focus on responsible, ethical, and human-centered AI.
Alongside hands-on design leadership, I bring deep experience in mentorship, hiring, and team development, and I serve as an Interview Bar Raiser, helping maintain a high standard for UX and product talent through thoughtful and inclusive evaluation.
I have a deep passion for design that pushes me to always keep learning, experimenting, and building. I truly love what I do — and in the end, I hope my work shows that.
